Default barbed prefix mod

would having a barbed sword/axe increase the duration of bleeding from jagged horrors?

Don't think so, you aren't causing it, via skill or attack.

No because you are using the weapon not them.

Well, I don't know. If you have a poisonous mod on, the poison from death nova is affected. Try it out.

I doubt it, but it might. Wouldn't be too hard to test either.

old wiki = "When equiping a barbed weapon, bleeding caused by any skill will increase the duration (for example the popular Signet of Agony + Plague Sending combo, results in 77% longer bleeding duration)."

official wiki = " This affects conditions inflicted by any skill, not just from attack skills, as long as the weapon is equipped when the skill is used." "Despite the in-game description, while a Barbed weapon is equipped, the duration of any bleeding condition inflicted by a skill will be increased, even if the skill is self-targeting (such as Signet of Agony)."

Old wiki discussion page had this same question in Oct 2007, but an answer was never posted.

Ok, well I decided to do a bit of testing for myself on the Master of Damage in Isle of the Nameless. I did two separate tests. The first way I tested was having my hero use Aura of the Lich, and I would cast Jagged Bones on it, kill with with Taste of Death, and then kill the Jagged Horror again as soon as it landed its first attack. During this test, the results with and without a barbed sword were the same.
For my second test, I used basically the same procedure, but instead of Jagged Bones, I would have my hero kill himself with BiP, and use Animate Shambling Horror. The results were almost identical to my earlier test.
So anyways, it appears that having a barbed weapon doesn't prolong bleeding from minions. But while testing, I realized one thing. You probably will never need the extra 33%, because the bleeding duration from a single attack averaged out to be about 25 seconds. I highly doubt anybody would need it any higher than this.

Depends on the original bleeding duration
